Ashlynn N. Vick

Ashlynn was born and raised in Southern Utah, spending a lot of her days in the St. George sun. She didn’t spend a lot of her time with art. She would do a few drawings and paintings here and there or if a class required it for an assignment. She took a few art classes in high school, but wasn’t super serious about going into art. It wasn’t until her senior year of high school, when her art teacher put her into his concurrent enrollment art class. This teacher, along with her dad, really pushed her to pursue art as a major in college.

Ashlynn enjoys all kinds of art media. She is currently focused on photography (digital and film) and watercolor. When Ashlynn is doing a photoshoot she really tries to capture the persons genuine personality by making sure she’s in the moment. She loves to get to know the people she’s taking photos of, and this helps her capture photos that they’ll love. Ashlynn’s watercolors are currently focused on the ideas of motherhood. Mothers are the ones who teach children to love and to be kind to those around them. To Ashlynn, motherhood is one of the most important jobs anyone could ask for. Motherhood is sacred and intimate. She hopes to capture all of this, and the grace and loving nature of mothers.

Ashlynns parents influence her daily. They are part of the reason why she decided to choose a career in art. Her dad pushes her to do her best everyday and to never give up, while her mom helps her to be a better and more loving person. That’s what she hopes her pieces show. Every piece of art she creates resembles what she loves and has experienced. She loves creating art that brings joy to those around her. Ashlynn wants her art to portray the values of kindness, integrity, humility, religion, and much more. She wants those who experience her art to connect with each other and find joy in the simple things in life.
